Fullen Gaels kicked the year off by winning the shield at Erin Go Bragh 2014 9-aside tournament. Fullen Gaels beat Croydon B in the final with Ciara Walsh Fullen Gael's captain accepting the trophy from the Club Chairperson Denis Neenan.

A long cold, day in Birmingham proved a good re-introduction to camogie for the year. We were delighted to welcome back Laura Deacon along with some new recruits; Denika Collier, Edel Barrett, Mairead McConigley and Colleen Haughian making their debut for the club.

Fullen Gaels met Croydon B in the final of the shield, they started the first half well with Ciara Walsh working hard on every inch of the playing field and supplying balls to the forwards Aine Brislane, Ellen Ryan and Aileen Gallagher. Fullen gael's defense showed an unwillingness to back down; Linda Coughlan and Colleen Haughian made some crucial clearances to send the ball back up the pitch and out of danger. Fullen Gaels dominated the second half and came out convincing winners after a challenging game. Fullen Gaels are delighted to have won their first piece of silverware for this year and made the long cold day in Birmingham worth the early start in particular for Karen O'Leary who came away with Player of the Shield award.
